The 28th Annual Black Theater Alliance/Ira Aldridge Awards Nominations

Chicago, IL. --- The Black Theater Alliance Awards, Inc. (BTAA) announces nominations for The 28th Annual Black Theater Alliance/Ira Aldridge Awards. Theater and Dance productions produced and presented on the Chicagoland stages between August 1, 2021 and July 31, 2022 were eligible for this season's nomination consideration.



BTAA's 2021-2022 performing arts season in the Chicagoland area totaled 57 produced and presented that have been reviewed by The Black Theater Alliance Awards, Inc. productions from that became 31 BTAA nominated categories, and 148 BTAA nominees. The recipients in all categories will be announced at The 28th Annual Black Theater Alliance/Ira Aldridge Awards on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Columbia College Chicago in The Conaway Center, located at 1104 South Wabash Avenue in Chicago, IL.



The BTA Awards is a business attire event. There will be a reception at 7pm followed by The 28th Annual Black Theater Alliance/Ira Aldridge Awards from 8p to 10p.



Ticket(s) to attend the event are priced at $30 for BTAA nominees, and $50 for guest. The deadline to purchase ticket(s) is Monday, September 26th, 2022. The Black Theater Alliance/Ira Aldridge Awards, Inc. was founded and incorporated by Vincent Williams in 1995. BTAA was founded to honor African Americans who achieve excellence in theater, dance, and all areas of the performing arts in the Chicagoland area.
